Thomas Village Baptist Church is one of approximately 12,000 churches in over 110 countries with an AWANA program. The name of the program has a biblical origin, II Timothy 2:15, Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, and is a ministry that assists churches in reaching children with the gospel.
The program is for all youth, including teenagers. The groups meet from 5 to 7 p.m. each Sunday night, September through May. The groups include:
Cubbies - preschoolers, 3- and 4-year old children.
Sparks - kindergarten through 2nd grade children.
Truth and Training - 3rd grade through 6th grade youth.
Trek - middle school youth.
Journey - high-school youth.

November
is
My Church &
Awana Month
Join Us as we celebrate our AWANA ministry and its impact on our children and youth, church and community! Did you know that more than 50 percent of long-term AWANA attenders still go to church and walk with God as adults?
The Thomas Village Baptist Church AWANA program will be sponsoring a food drive to help make a needy family’s Thanksgiving a little more thankful. Canned goods and non-perishable items will be collected until November 21, downstairs in the red pail.
Also, in an effort to teach the true meaning of giving, we will be collecting small gifts for a Christmas AWANA store! The children will be able to select gifts for each of their family members on the night of December 19. We will also need volunteers to help with wrapping these gifts before they leave that night. Gifts for adults and children will be collected until December 12.
For more information, please see any of the AWANA workers.
To learn more about AWANA or to sign up your child, please contact Scott Jerrell, Commander, at 276-940-1261 (H) or email thejerrells@mounet.com for more information. Remember, this is not just a program for Thomas Village Baptist Church--it is a program for ALL youth, regardless of church affiliation.
Does your child need transportation to and from the meetings? Let Scottknow. The Church van provides transportation to and from the meetings.
